An old book on comic-book art once told me that you should never show the moment of impact with a punch. Show the lead-in, show the follow-through, but never show the actual instant where the fist connects, because the comic panel remains a frozen tableaux forever, and that connection draws all the movement out of the scene. You're left with a guy holding his fist against another guy.
For this comic I chose to disregard this law, because Nefarius is driving his fist deep into Manny's kidneys (or whatever) and I thought it would be nice to express that. I was wrong; I'm sorry.
Still, I kind of like how Ruby came out.
