I almost took this in the direction of exploring exactly what was inside the box, just to underscore how odd it is to write characters over a decade younger than yourself. Assuming these guys are still around 19-20 (as they were when the comic started, back in 2005), they were born in or around 1990. Even assuming the date in the comic has stuck at 2005, they're still younger than Star Trek: The Next Generation. They're certainly younger than Transformers.
