It's just occurred to me that it's been an actual year since we've seen this guy, so I figured it's about time we catch up with him. What's he been doing? Where's he been? How has he been pitching in with the whole Crossoverlord affair? Well, that tale is still winding its way, so I have to try and work out an angle that neither conflicts with any of the established facts nor breaks any new ground. But, you know, alternate worlds are involved, so if there's inconsistencies we can just say it's the next multiverse over.

This strip also represents something that's either important to the cohesion of the story as a whole, or entirely self-indulgent - it illustrates a juncture, if you will, a potential avenue of ingress between fictions. I'm not going to say whose backstory this is significant to, but it makes me slightly more comfortable.

Oh, and some advance warning ... I may not have time for a comic between now and Tuesday. There's like a solid five days of not-available between here and there. I'll try to have something up, but no promises.
