Yeah, this is kind of a filler, on account of spending most of yesterday doing things (cooking, purchasing things to be cooked) for my boyfriend's birthday. I kind of like the tile background - it's an approximation of what Photoshop shows you when you're looking at something fully transparent, which should trigger some sort of Ur-memory in the graphic designers among you - and may go keep it for all my non-continuity strips. I may even retroactively apply them to some of the others.
Of course, it's not hard to find out where the name really comes from. Wikipedia has this to say on the matter:
The day's name originated in Philadelphia, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic which would occur on the day after Thanksgiving. Use of the term began by 1966 and began to see broader use outside Philadelphia around 1975. Later an alternative explanation began to be offered: that "Black Friday" indicates the period during which retailers are turning a profit, or "in the black."
I just realised that one references Wikipedia in exactly the same way as one might invoke the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I wonder if it is more or less reliable.
Oh hey i should upload this right otherwise there's no point even drawing it
